Weekly blog oct 21
Second week back from break and it was pretty okay, my even periods felt awfully long for some reason but anyways I'm starting to get used to things. By that I mean, like our GT projects, new students, and just second quarter changes to school. Things that didn't change however were daily duties which this week period 3 had music!! On Thursday we had ISA which was pretty fun bc the boys volleyball and girls basketball team basically won all the games and I got to capture all those as photos for a video on ISA. During class times, I had the opportunity to meet with GT and discuss our topic and start to get into it, we changed our original topic and had a pretty good discussion. And on Friday, I started dance again for S.I.! with Micah and Leyla girl.
My highlights of this week were definitely ISA. The teams were so chaotic and funny but cooperated so well and displayed great sportsmanship. It was so exciting when they won and I got those memories on camera. It was pretty hot and all of us were running all over the place but the day was so worth it. My favorite memory of ISA would probably have to be how that one Honouliuli kid asked for Leilani's number and everyone crowded around her and started jumping lols. Another highlight of mine this week was GT. I'm really starting to get to know Mal and Mark more and their contributions to the discussions are very interesting and great. Like their skit idea was pretty funny and now were starting to go around campus and look for cases of vandalism as well as think about questions to ask others around school. One lowlight was missing my classes on Thursday because my evens has all core classes like English and Science and Social Studies. Luckily though I never missed social studies but I had lot's of catching up to do for science and English, which I managed to catch up with. ( soo i guess you could say its a highlight of a lowlight that i caught up my missed core class work ). Another lowlight of mine was the way that my binder literally snapped in half while I was in class so here I was walking around with a messy bag 😕😕
Lesson of the week !! Encouragement is very important and does a lot. I got this from ISA and dance because I see that people get really confident when you cheer them on and it's such a refreshing and nice feeling. It's important as students in leadership to be encouraging and set examples so that it can be spread to others as well. Like during ISA, I noticed the volleyball players started hitting stronger or controlled after being cheered on by the girls basketball team and that was pretty cool.
